HIV Nurse Practitioners apply evidence-based practice and research to manage HIV care, including antiretroviral therapy initiation, monitoring, and adherence support. They conduct comprehensive assessments of HIV-positive patients, manage opportunistic infections, provide psychosocial support, and monitor treatment outcomes using clinical and laboratory data. They educate patients, families, and communities on HIV prevention, treatment adherence, and risk reduction strategies. HNPs also participate in program evaluation, quality improvement, and research initiatives to improve HIV care delivery, while advocating for stigma reduction, access to care, and community engagement in HIV prevention and treatment programs.
